Wild Blueberry Vanilla Matcha Smoothie Recipe

I recently made this Wild Blueberry Vanilla Matcha Smoothie and it instantly became one of my favorite quick drinks. I love how the fruity sweetness of blueberries blends with the earthy taste of matcha.
Total Time 3 minutes
Servings: 2
Calories: 94

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla soy oat, or almond milk
  • ½ cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ large frozen banana
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients and measuring them properly. Make sure the banana and blueberries are frozen so the smoothie becomes thick and cold. Frozen fruit also helps maintain nutrients and gives a creamy texture.
  2. Place the milk, frozen blueberries, frozen banana, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and ice cubes into a blender. Adding liquid first helps the blades move more easily and ensures smoother blending.
  3. Blend everything together until the mixture becomes completely smooth and frothy. If the smoothie feels too thick, add a small amount of extra milk and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste the smoothie after blending. If you prefer it sweeter, you can add a small drizzle of honey or maple syrup and blend briefly again.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve right away. The cold texture and fresh flavor are best enjoyed immediately after blending.

Notes

  • I like using very ripe bananas before freezing them because they make the smoothie naturally sweeter.
  • I always use frozen blueberries instead of fresh because they make the smoothie thicker and colder.
  • I prefer soy milk because it gives the smoothie a richer and creamier texture.
  • I sometimes add a small scoop of protein powder to make it more filling for breakfast.
  • If the smoothie becomes too thick, I simply add a little extra milk and blend again.
