Warm Boursin Dip with Crostini Recipe

I have to admit, every time I make this Warm Boursin Dip with Crostini, my kitchen smells heavenly, and everyone hovers around, waiting for a taste. There’s something magical about the creamy Boursin cheese blending with mozzarella and cream cheese, creating a dip that feels luxurious yet so simple.
Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • Boursin Cheese – 5.2 oz 150g, Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor; do not substitute, it’s key for creaminess and herby taste.
  • Cream Cheese – 8 oz 226g, softened to room temperature; full-fat for a smooth, rich base.
  • Shredded Mozzarella – 1 cup 113g, low-moisture, freshly shredded; melts perfectly and gives a gooey texture.
  • Grated Parmesan – ½ cup 50g, freshly grated; adds depth and natural saltiness.
  • Mayonnaise – ¼ cup 55g, full-fat; keeps the dip creamy and balanced.
  • Dry White Wine – 2 tablespoons optional (Sauvignon Blanc recommended); adds brightness, can swap with milk or chicken broth.
  • Garlic – 1 clove minced; enhances freshness and flavor.
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper – ¼ teaspoon or to taste; balances the flavors.
  • Baguette – 1 sliced diagonally into ½-inch rounds; fresh bread gives best crunch.
  • Olive Oil – For brushing; choose high-quality for richer flavor.
  • Salt – A pinch to season the crostini.

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and placing the rack in the middle. This ensures even baking and a perfectly golden, bubbling dip. While it warms, lightly grease your baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Slice your baguette into ½-inch rounds. Brush both sides with olive oil, sprinkle lightly with salt, and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crisp—these crunchy slices are the perfect dip vehicle.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and Boursin cheese. Blend until smooth using a hand mixer or spatula. Add half the mozzarella, Parmesan, mayonnaise, white wine, garlic, and black pepper; mix until fully incorporated and creamy.
  4. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden. The aroma will fill your kitchen, signaling it’s almost ready.
  5. Let the dip rest 5-10 minutes after baking to thicken slightly and let flavors meld. Garnish with fresh herbs or extra cheese if desired. Serve warm alongside your homemade crostini for a show-stopping appetizer.

Notes

  • Always use room-temperature cream cheese for a smoother dip.
  • Don’t overbake; look for bubbling edges and a light golden top.
  • Make crostini in advance and store in an airtight container to retain crunch.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan and good-quality mayonnaise really elevate the flavor.
  • Taste and adjust pepper to your liking before baking.
