Tequila Stardust Gummy Wands Recipe

I recently tried making Tequila Stardust Gummy Wands, and I have to say—they were an absolute hit! I loved how easy it was to whip up these sparkly treats, and the combination of tequila, citrus, and edible glitter made them feel extra special.
Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Tequila: 1 cup – I recommend a good-quality tequila for a rich smooth flavor.
  • Water: 1/2 cup – Helps dissolve the sugar and gelatin for a perfect gummy texture.
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup – Sweetens the mixture; I always prefer using fine sugar for smooth results.
  • Corn Syrup: 1/4 cup – Keeps the gummies soft shiny, and chewy.
  • Unflavored Gelatin: 3 tablespoons – Essential for that bouncy gummy texture.
  • Lime Juice: 2 tablespoons – Adds a zesty punch and balances sweetness.
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon – Complements lime with a gentle tartness.
  • Salt: A pinch – Enhances flavor and prevents overpowering sweetness.
  • Edible Glitter: As needed – For a magical sparkling finish.

Method

  1. Pour tequila and water into a saucepan. Warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally until just heated—not boiling. This gently infuses the liquid and starts building flavor.
  2. Add sugar and corn syrup to the warm mixture. Stir 3–4 minutes until fully dissolved. This step ensures a smooth, evenly sweet gummy base.
  3. Lower the heat and sprinkle gelatin over the mixture. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb liquid and thicken. Blooming is key for that firm, bouncy texture.
  4. Stir the gelatin mixture until fully dissolved with no lumps. Make sure everything is smooth for a flawless gummy consistency.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes. Cooling helps flavors meld and prepares the mixture for molding.
  6. Grease silicone molds or a shallow dish lightly with oil. This makes removing gummies easier and prevents sticking.
  7. Pour the mixture into the molds or dish. Chill in the fridge for 2–3 hours until firm. The gummies are ready when they’re springy to the touch.
  8. Remove gummies from molds or cut strips from the dish. Sprinkle with edible glitter for a dazzling, party-ready finish.

Notes

  • I always use high-quality tequila—it really makes a difference.
  • Letting the gelatin bloom fully is crucial; skipping this makes gummies too soft.
  • I like experimenting with flavored juices for a personalized twist.
  • Make sure to chill long enough; rushing leads to gummy mishaps.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain texture and flavor.
