Steak Marinade with Worcestershire Recipe

After making this steak marinade recipe, I just had to share it with you. It’s now my go-to whenever I want a perfectly flavored, juicy steak. Worcestershire sauce adds an incredible depth of umami flavor that transforms ordinary steak into something truly mouthwatering.

Ingredients

  • cup soy sauce
  • cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes

Method

  1. Start by combining all the marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk together the soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Add Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat. The aroma alone will tell you that this marinade is going to be amazing!
  2. Place your steaks in a ziplock bag or a glass container. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring each piece is coated evenly. Seal the bag (or cover the container) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. For the richest flavor, I recommend marinating overnight. The Worcestershire sauce in the mix works wonders by tenderizing the meat while infusing it with bold flavors.
  3. To cook, heat a cast-iron skillet on high heat until it’s very hot. This helps achieve that nice crusty sear on the steak. Add your meat directly to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes on each side, or until the outside is browned. Reduce the heat to medium-high and cook the steak to your preferred doneness (about 5 more minutes for medium-rare). Add butter during the final moments for an extra luxurious finish.
  4. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5-10 minutes. This step is crucial to lock in the juices and keep every bite tender. Once rested, slice your steak against the grain for the best texture.
