Steak Marinade Tenderizing Recipe

I’ve always loved a juicy, flavorful steak, but for a long time, I struggled with getting the perfect, tender texture. Then I discovered the magic of marinades, and my steak game changed forever. This tenderizing steak marinade combines the right balance of acidity and seasonings to soften tough cuts of meat while infusing them with mouthwatering flavor.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Method

  1. Start by combining all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. The soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce bring umami richness, while balsamic vinegar and lemon juice provide just the right amount of acidity to tenderize the meat. Don’t forget the cayenne pepper for that subtle touch of heat! Whisk everything together until it’s fully blended and silky smooth.
  2. Place your steak in a zip-top bag or a non-metal dish. Non-metal containers are essential because acidic ingredients, like vinegar and lemon juice, can react with metal surfaces. Pour the prepared marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s evenly coated. You can gently massage the steak through the bag to help it absorb the flavor more effectively.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then place it in the refrigerator to marinate. The optimal marinating time is between 1 to 8 hours, depending on the thickness and toughness of the steak. Be sure to turn the steak at least once halfway through to ensure every inch gets infused with flavor. When ready, grill, broil, or pan-sear your steak to perfection, and watch the magic happen!
