Pina Colada Smoothie Recipe

I had to share this tropical smoothie because I couldn’t stop drinking it after the first blend. When I made this Pina Colada Smoothie, it instantly gave me vacation vibes right at home. I love how creamy, fruity, and refreshing it tastes without being heavy.
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frozen banana – gives natural sweetness and creates a creamy texture without needing sugar.
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks – frozen pineapple works best because it keeps the smoothie thick and cold.
  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice or pina colada juice – enhances the tropical flavor and blends everything smoothly.
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk – full-fat coconut milk adds richness and authentic pina colada taste.
  • A handful of ice cubes – helps achieve that chilled slushy consistency.

Method

  1. Start by measuring out the frozen banana and pineapple chunks. Using frozen fruit helps create a thick smoothie without watering it down.
  2. Pour the pineapple juice and coconut milk into the blender first. This helps the blades move freely and blend the frozen fruit more smoothly.
  3. Blend everything on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. If it feels too thick, add a splash of juice; if too thin, add a few ice cubes and blend again.

Notes

  • I always freeze ripe bananas ahead of time for better texture.
  • If the pineapple isn’t sweet enough, I add a small drizzle of honey.
  • Blending a little longer makes the smoothie extra silky.
  • I prefer full-fat coconut milk for the best flavor.
  • Serving immediately keeps the smoothie cold and refreshing.
