Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam Cobbler Recipe

I still remember the first time I baked this peanut butter and strawberry jam cobbler—it filled my kitchen with the most comforting, nostalgic aroma. It reminded me of childhood peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but in a warm, gooey dessert form. I couldn’t resist digging in straight from the oven, spoon in hand
Total Time 50 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 1 cup Provides structure; sift for a lighter texture
  • granulated sugar – 3/4 cup Balances the saltiness of peanut butter
  • baking powder – 1 1/2 teaspoons Helps the cobbler rise beautifully
  • salt – 1/2 teaspoon Enhances overall flavor
  • milk – 1 cup Use whole milk for a richer batter
  • creamy peanut butter – 1/2 cup Smooth texture works best for even distribution
  • strawberry jam – 1 cup Choose high-quality or homemade for best flavor
  • unsalted butter – 1/2 cup Melted; creates a golden crust
  • vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon Adds warmth and depth

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined. Add milk and vanilla extract, then mix until a smooth batter forms. Make sure there are no lumps for a soft and even bake.
  2. Pour the melted butter into your baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. This creates a rich base and helps form a golden crust. Do not stir the butter with the batter—it works as a separate layer.
  3. Gently pour the batter over the melted butter without mixing. Spoon dollops of peanut butter and strawberry jam evenly across the top. As it bakes, these layers will sink and swirl naturally.
  4. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35–40 minutes. The top should be golden brown, and the edges slightly crisp. The center will remain soft and gooey.
  5. Allow the cobbler to cool for about 10 minutes before serving. This helps the flavors settle and makes scooping easier. Serve warm for the best experience.

Notes

  • I always use high-quality jam because it really enhances the flavor
  • Don’t overmix the batter; I keep it light for a fluffy texture
  • I sometimes swirl the jam slightly for a marbled effect
  • Letting it rest before serving helps the layers set perfectly
  • I love adding a pinch of cinnamon for a subtle warmth
