Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the frozen chicken patties on a baking sheet and bake them for about 20 minutes, or until they’re cooked through and crispy on the outside. Once done, slice each patty in half lengthwise so they fit nicely in the sandwich.
Spread garlic butter generously on one side of each slice of Italian bread. In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix marinara sauce, dried basil, and garlic salt. Heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute, just until warm and fragrant.
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on your heated skillet. Add two slices of provolone cheese, a spoonful of marinara sauce, and the halved chicken patties on top. Add another spoonful of sauce, another slice of provolone, and then top it with the second slice of bread (butter side up).
Cook the sandwich over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and gooey. Keep an eye on the heat — you don’t want to burn the bread before the cheese melts.
Warm up the remaining marinara sauce and stir in the shredded Parmesan. Serve this sauce on the side for dipping — it’s the perfect cheesy, tangy complement to your sandwich.
