Ingredients

  • 1 can 12 oz Dr. Pepper, chilled – the soda must be cold for the best fizz and creamy balance.
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream – creamy vanilla works best but you can experiment with chocolate or cherry flavors.
  • Whipped cream optional – adds a light and airy topping.
  • Maraschino cherries optional – a classic finish that makes it look and taste better.

Method

  1. Start by choosing a tall glass or mason jar. Make sure the glass is clean and chilled if possible, as this helps keep the float colder for longer. Pour the chilled Dr. Pepper into the glass slowly, filling it about three-quarters full. Leave enough space at the top to add ice cream without overflowing.
  2. Using an ice cream scoop, carefully place two scoops of vanilla ice cream into the glass. Add them one at a time so they settle gently into the soda. The soda will fizz up when the ice cream touches it, so go slow to keep it from spilling over.
  3. For extra flavor and presentation, top the float with whipped cream. A swirl on top adds a creamy finish. Place a maraschino cherry right in the center to give it that classic soda shop look. You can also sprinkle crushed nuts, drizzle chocolate syrup, or even add sprinkles if you want to make it more fun.
  4. Your Dr. Pepper Float is ready to enjoy. Serve it immediately with a straw and a long spoon. The straw makes sipping the fizzy soda easy, while the spoon helps scoop up the creamy ice cream. Enjoy the perfect mix of creamy, fizzy, and sweet flavors in every bite.
