Christmas Tree Spinach Dip Breadsticks Recipe

I absolutely love making festive snacks for the holidays, and this Christmas Tree Spinach Dip Breadsticks recipe quickly became one of my favorites. Every time I make it, my kitchen smells amazing, and my guests can’t stop talking about it.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 32 minutes

Ingredients

  • Refrigerated pizza dough – 2 tubes choose a good-quality dough for the best texture
  • Frozen spinach – 1 cup thawed and squeezed dry (removing excess moisture prevents soggy breadsticks)
  • Cream cheese – 4 ounces softened (use full-fat for the creamiest dip)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese – ¼ cup freshly grated adds more flavor than pre-shredded
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – ½ cup grate your own for better melting
  • Garlic – 1 teaspoon minced (adds a savory punch)
  • Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon enhances overall flavor
  • Onion powder – ½ teaspoon adds depth without overpowering
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon balances flavors
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon freshly ground works best
  • Melted butter – 2 tablespoons for brushing the baked breadsticks

Method

  1. First, thaw the spinach and squeeze out all excess water to avoid soggy breadsticks. Combine it with softened cream cheese, garlic, seasonings, and cheeses in a mixing bowl. Use a hand or stand mixer to blend everything until creamy and smooth.
  2. Roll out one pizza dough tube into a rectangle on parchment paper. Cut it into one large triangle and two smaller ones from the corners to the center. Arrange the smaller triangles together to form a matching second triangle.
  3. Spread spoonfuls of the spinach dip evenly over the large triangle. Make sure the edges are covered so the filling doesn’t spill out during baking. This creates the perfect base for your Christmas tree.
  4. Place the second triangle over the spinach dip layer. Cut slices from the center to the edges, leaving about an inch intact in the middle. Twist each slice to form the tree shape, giving more twists to longer slices for a natural tree look.
  5. Transfer the tree to a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 32 minutes. Check the bottom to ensure it’s cooked through. Once baked, brush the warm breadsticks with melted butter, garlic salt, and additional seasonings for extra flavor.

Notes

  • I always squeeze the spinach thoroughly to prevent watery breadsticks.
  • Brushing the tree with garlic butter after baking makes it extra flavorful.
  • Cutting the slices carefully ensures a neat, professional-looking tree.
  • I sometimes sprinkle extra Parmesan on top before baking for a golden crust.
