Air Fryer Chili-Lime Cod Recipe

I absolutely love making this Air Fryer Chili-Lime Cod recipe! It’s quick, packed with flavor, and perfect for busy weeknights when I want something healthy yet satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 Wild Alaskan Pacific cod fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lime

Method

  1. First, I defrost my cod if frozen, ideally overnight in the fridge. Then I pat it dry with paper towels so the spice rub sticks perfectly.
  2. In a small bowl, I combine olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. I rub this mixture over the cod fillets evenly.
  3. I preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook the cod for 8–10 minutes. The fish should flake easily with a fork when done.
  4. Once cooked, I drizzle fresh lime juice and zest over the cod. It really brightens the flavor and makes it zesty and fresh.
  5. I plate the cod with tortillas, shredded cabbage, and favorite taco toppings. It’s ready to enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • I always pat my cod dry before seasoning; it helps the crust form better
  • I use fresh lime juice for brightness, bottled juice doesn’t compare
  • Sometimes I add a tiny sprinkle of smoked salt for extra depth
  • Cooking one fillet at a time ensures perfect air circulation and even cooking.
