Air Fryer Chicken Breast Recipe

I recently tried making Air Fryer Chicken Breast, and honestly, I was surprised by how juicy and flavorful it turned out.
Total Time 23 minutes
Servings: 2
Calories: 219

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This step helps the seasoning stick better and improves texture. Place the chicken in a bowl, ready for seasoning.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and rub it evenly on both sides. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Make sure every piece is fully coated with the seasoning mix.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3–5 minutes. This ensures even cooking right from the start. Preheating also helps create a slightly crisp exterior.
  4. Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway through. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices and keeps the meat tender. Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • I always use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking
  • I prefer slightly thicker chicken breasts for juicier results
  • I sometimes marinate the chicken for 30 minutes for extra flavor
  • I don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket—it cooks more evenly
  • I let the chicken rest before cutting to keep it moist.
